How Cellintel rankings work

Cellintel turns real-world community reports into an easy carrier comparison. The goal is not to claim perfect coverage everywhere—it is to show what people are actually experiencing and how much evidence supports the result.

Community reports

Each submitted review contributes signal, data and call-quality ratings for a specific location and carrier.

Verified speed tests

Download, upload and latency results add objective performance evidence when a test is completed through Cellintel.

Freshness matters

Recent reports are more useful than old ones because networks, congestion and local infrastructure change over time.

Evidence volume

Rankings become more dependable as independent contributors and verified tests accumulate in a location.

COVERAGE CONFIDENCE

How much evidence supports the ranking?

Coverage Confidence is separate from carrier performance. A carrier can rank first in an area while confidence remains limited when only a few reports exist. Confidence increases with report volume, verified testing, contributor diversity and recent activity.

HighStrong, recent evidence from multiple reports and verified tests.
ModerateUseful evidence exists, but more local contributions would improve certainty.
LimitedEarly results should be treated as directional rather than definitive.

WHAT RANKINGS CONSIDER

A focused set of understandable signals

Cellintel does not sell a carrier a better position in local rankings. Results change as new community evidence is submitted.

Improve the evidence for your area

A local report helps neighbours compare carriers and makes Coverage Confidence more meaningful.
